Saving and Publishing Views / Filters

Saving Views / filters is a very useful feature. It can be applied to any type of view (worksheet, Graph, Report). It is also used to save standalone filters.

In order to save the current View / Filter, select ‘Save’ or ‘Save As’ from the File menu or click on the following button from the Navigation Toolbar:

The following dialog will then be displayed :

The Filter/View Description is the minimum required information to be able to save a Filter/View.

Published for list box allows you to publish the Filter/View for other users. The list contains all available users and groups including the special group *PUBLIC . This group includes automatically all users. This means that, when *PUBLIC is selected, the Filter / View will be published to all users.

Check "Lock view definition" if you allow only the owner of this view being able tof modify this view.

Type "Owner" user profile that will have full access to this view.

Check "Hide this view for all users" if you allow only the owner of this view being able to see this view listed in the command center.

View type and filter

Check "Filter only" to create only a filter.

Check "Filter from active window" to save the view with the current filter displayed in the active window of the saved view.

Cancel the operation and close the dialog using the Cancel button.

A "Save as" option is also available from Nectari main menu "File / Save as" .

Publishing views does not override column level security. In other words, if you publish a view that contains columns which other users are not authorized to, they will not see these columns although they would be able to open your view.
